Our Mission is to deliver high quality childcare and exciting opportunities for learning that give every child a head start as they prepare for school. We place children at the heart of what we do and providing opportunity to explore, discover and invent is a system designed to build on a child’s natural desire to investigate and understand their own environment. Our mission is to provide a young mind with opportunities to develop emotional, intellectual and physical skills within a happy, friendly and supportive atmosphere. It is through this a child explores and develops their own potential.
Why Creative Kids Academy?
Within our warm and welcoming environment every child is treated as a unique individual and encouraged to enjoy their learning through play based activities combined with formal learning, Our approach to teaching leads to happy, confident children and academic excellence. At Creative Kids Academy we understand that play is vital to children’s learning and development. Not only is play lots of fun, it helps children to understand the world around them and to develop emotionally and socially. It is essential for children to have opportunities to play in a safe, secure, fun and stimulating environment with adults who care about them. Children will develop in confidence without feeling pressured.
Our staff
Our practitioners are passionate in their role of working with children and provide the necessary skills and knowledge to enhance the child’s play learning and development. We provide a safe and welcoming environment where the wellbeing of every child is our utmost concern. Each child is valued and treated individually to enable them to socialize, form and develop good relationships. There are opportunities for the children to explore and experiment in all aspects of their learning. Throughout their time at nursery it is extremely rewarding to see how the children develop into happy and confident little learners.
Our practitioners inspire children and engineer learning experiences that make the child himself the leader. We believe that teachers’ role is to observe, listen to their questions and stories and find what interests them and then provide them with opportunities to explore those interests further.
Our Nursey And Your Child
Only a parent can truly appreciate what it is that makes the very best of childcare. The setting, the staff, the security and the activities are all equally important and deserve the highest attention to detail. We have a clear commitment to maintaining high standards in all areas of the Creative Kids Academy Nursery.
Every child deserves the best possible start and support in life to fulfil their potential. A child’s experience in the early years has a major impact on their future life chances. A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in its own right, and it provides the foundation for children to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up. When parents choose to send their child to a nursery, they want to know that provision will keep their children safe and help them to thrive.
Creative Kids Academy Nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework to provide that assurance and the highest level of care and education for all the children, encouraging true learning through play’.
Children have a natural sense of curiosity, to investigate and learn as they play therefore, we
create those learning opportunities to meet the needs of each child as an individual. We provide a happy, warm, stimulating and safe environment in which children can develop physically, intellectually, socially and emotionally. As they participate in a variety of creative activities, the children gain confidence in their own abilities and practice their developing skills.
Children are placed in classes according to their age and developmental needs. The progress of development is assessed using the EYFS Profile and resources available are carefully chosen to suit the child’s age and stage of development.
Through the EYFS our aim is to help young children achieve the five Every Child Matters outcomes of staying safe, being healthy, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution, and achieving economic well-being by:
- Setting the standards for the learning, development and care young children should experience when they are attending a setting outside their family home, ensuring that every child makes progress and that no child gets left behind;
- Providing for equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice and ensuring that every child is included and not disadvantaged because of ethnicity, home language, family background,learning difficulties or disabilities, gender or ability;
- Creating the framework for partnership working between parents and professionals, and between all the settings that the child attends;
- Improving quality and consistency in the early years sector through a universal set of standards which apply to all settings, ending the distinction between care and learning in the existing frameworks, and providing the basis for the inspection and regulation regime;
- Laying a secure foundation for future learning through learning and development that is planned around the individual needs and interests of the child, and informed by the use of ongoing observational assessment.
Parents as partners
Early years practitioners have a key role to play in working with parents to support their young children. This will include identifying learning needs and responding quickly to any difficulties. Parents are children’s first and most enduring educators, when parents and practitioners work together in early years settings, the results have a positive impact on children’s development and learning.
Parents are our customers and therefore have a valued input into every aspect of our nursery. We welcome your comments about how the nursery is run and the service we offer; in person or through the website. Your child’s Class Teacher and the Nursery Manager are always willing to meet with you and discuss your child’s progress as well as answer any concerns you may have.
When you come to collect your child, the Class Teacher or Key Worker will tell you all about his or her day, activities and achievements. A more formal review of progress will take place twice during the year, and you are encouraged to read through your child’s records and ‘All About Me’ folders whenever you wish. In addition to this we have a parent’s notice board and send out a monthly newsletter to keep you up to date with news about the nursery. We always encourage parents to get involved with the nursery and its activities and we look forward to welcoming you and your child.
Initial Parent- Teacher meetings
During the first two weeks you will be asked to make an appointment with your child’s Class Teacher so that you can discuss all areas of concern or just ensure that the teacher is well informed of the needs of your child. The Teachers are trained to be able to make assessments of the needs of the child in order to support their development, however, a meeting will assure you that your child is being well taken care of and in good hands.
Support from Experts
Every child is different and they all develop at their own pace, however, if you have any concerns about your child’s development, expert advice and support is available. We are continuously building relationships with outside agencies in the UAE and UK that allow us to offer support for any concerns around child development.
Early Days
Once your child joins our nursery they will receive all the care and attention they need. Leaving your child at nursery for the first time can be an upsetting experience – for you as much as your child! However, our sympathetic and well-trained staff can help make the whole process much happier and less traumatic.
At Creative Kids Academy Nursery your child’s Class Teacher and/or Key Worker will be responsible for ensuring that your child’s introduction to nursery goes as smoothly as possible. You will be able to stay with your child until he or she settles in, after which you should leave to ease the settling in process. The settling-in period is rarely as difficult as you imagine it to be, and children quickly learn that nursery is a happy, friendly place to be. If there are any problems these are quickly addressed by your child’s Teacher and the Manager if required.
When your child starts nursery we ask you to provide all necessary information such as contact telephone numbers, names of people who will collect him or her on a regular basis, sleeping and feeding routines, food likes and dislikes and so on. Our aim is to ensure that children’s routines, especially if they are very small, reflect where possible, what they are used to doing at home.
Above all, this is a time when parents are always welcome to discuss their concerns and resolve any introduction issues. Your child’s first few weeks will be the foundation of a happy, secure childhood, and their time at nursery will give them the confidence and skills to enjoy a successful pre-school and school experience.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) became a statutory requirement for all childcare settings in the UK in September 2008 and has since been revised for implementation in published on the 31 March 2021. With every attempt to stay up to date, Creative Kids Academy Nursery will implement the EYFS 2021.
For all children learning begins at birth and the EYFS will help practitioners provide appropriate play experiences to enable your child to develop in all areas. It will enable practitioners to recognize your child’s strengths and areas they need more support to develop new skills. For young children it is important that they are made to feel safe and secure in their surroundings, this is aided by the Class Teacher and the Key Worker who get to know you and your child well and build a positive relationship with you both.
The EYFS is a single quality framework to support children’s learning and development from Birth to Five years (end of child’s Reception year). The aim of the EYFS is to ensure that all children under five benefit from a safe, secure and happy environment where they can play and develop, laying the foundation for success with the British primary school curriculum.
The framework recognizes that there is a developmental continuum for children. It recognizes children as individuals and competent learners. There is an emphasis on learning through active play, with children encouraged to build on their individual needs and interests. The EYFS is delivered through a well-planned play based approach to learning and development.
Young children learn best through play and our staff will be able to provide your child with appropriate play and learning experiences for their stage of development and help them develop new skills. The EYFS consists of seven areas of learning and development, all areas of learning are important and interconnected. Within each area there are a number of early learning goals which most children will achieve by the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage. The activities will underpin the skills they need to work towards the Early Learning Goals in the following areas:
- Communication, language
- Physical development
- Personal, social and emotional development
these three areas are prime areas and particularly important to igniting enthusiasm and curiosity.
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding of the world
- Expressive arts and design
these four areas are specific areas through which the prime areas are strengthened and applied.
The EYFS also encourages practitioners and parents and carers to work together to help children develop their potential, For you this means, the opportunity to input information about your child’s development. If your child has a Special Educational Need and/or disability additional information is imbedded in the EYFS to enable practitioners to target work specifically and help your child to progress.
You can trust us
Creative Kids Academy Nursery’s friendly, appropriately qualified, experienced and capable staff, are the backbone of the nursery. We are committed to staff training and enjoy a high quality induction and ongoing training for staff at all levels.
In addition to this, staff are trained in first aid, health and safety and basic food hygiene, and are encouraged to extend, improve and update their training and qualifications with our full support.
Staff/Child Ratios
We keep our staff/child ratios low in order to provide closer attention to each child and maintain our commitment to health and safety. We have one member of staff to three children for 0-1 year olds,one to five for 1-2 year olds, one to six for 2-3 year olds and one to eight for 3-4 year olds.
Safe and Secure
Your child’s safety and well-being is our main concern, and it’s very important that parents feel confident that they can leave their children in our care, knowing they are safe. A full time nurse is on site and staff are trained to offer first aid to children and to deal with allergies. All play areas inside and outside the building are safe and secure, and all play equipment is checked for breakages and fault.
Collection Password
Upon registration you will be required to supply a password that will be used to collect your child by the people that you have authorized to regularly deliver and collect your child. If any other person is to pick up your child then staff need to be notified in advance and the individual must provide proof of identity before being allowed to collect your child. If we are in any doubt about the person collecting your child, we will not release your child into their care.
Eating Right
A balanced diet is crucial to a child’s physical and mental development, and our nursery promotes healthy food and drink. We also support parents in providing lunchbox designed to appeal to children and to provide key nutritional elements.
Key Workers
Each child will be assigned a Key Worker. They will monitor the progress of your child and respond appropriately ensuring that the care your child receives is tailored to meet their individual needs and that they progress in their learning. They will help your child become familiar and settled in their new environment. Children will always be within sight or hearing but mostly within sight and hearing. All Key Workers are under the supervision of the Class Teacher.
