Our science classes in creative kids’ academy help in developing new concepts or ideas is an active process and usually begins with child-centered inquiry, which focuses on the asking of questions relevant to the child. We encourage children to ask questions and allow them to explore their curiosity.
During their first years at nursery our children will gain knowledge through observation, experimentations and play. They explore creatures, people, plants and objects in their natural environments. They will observe and manipulate objects and materials to identify differences and similarities. They will also learn about healthy living, how to use their senses, feeling objects and textures thereby improving their motor skills, or listening to sounds in the environment, such as sirens or farm animals. They will make observations of animals and plants and explain why some things occur and talk about it changes. Children will be encouraged to ask questions about why things happen and how things work. They will do activities such as living and nonliving things while exploring their characteristics, weather/climate liquid and color mixtures, sinking and floating objects, the concept of magnetism.
Our approach to science instruction is less about learning a specific body of knowledge and more about developing the way of thinking and exploring, and let them understand that all sorts of things can be examined and learned from
The aim of these is to
- Help kids understand that they can use science processes to learn more about the world around them
- Nurture the natural curiosity in our young children
- Improve their critical and problem-solving skills
- Allow them to learn through inquiry and make their own discoveries
